Is the “science of designing work environments and processes for the people who use them”. EHS works with M Healthy and the U-M ergonomics team to increase awareness of ergonomics resources available to faculty and staff on the Flint campus. EHS performs initial ergonomic evaluation of work stations, and provides loaner office equipment for employees to try before they buy when requested. If interested in the try before you buy program, please call UM-Flint Environment, Health and Safety at 766-6763 or e-mail us at Flint.EHS@umich.edu
UM-Flint EHS provides free initial ergonomic evaluations for any faculty or staff member that is interested in preventing discomfort while performing job tasks. During the current pandemic situation, EHS can provide initial ergonomic evaluations for workers who are working remotely via phone or virtual platform. By performing an ergonomic evaluation, we will be able to identify any work-related factors that may pose a risk of illness or injury. To request additional information or preventative services, please call UM-Flint Environment, Health and Safety at 766-6763 or e-mail us at Flint.EHS@umich.edu.
Medical Ergonomics Program
A free medical ergonomic evaluation is avilable for any faculty or staff member that is currently under a physician, chiropractor, or therapist care related to the discomfort experienced during the workday. In order to schedule a medical ergonomic evaluation, you must first have the physician prescription/referral form filled out by your health care provider.
