Welcome faculty colleagues!
You are joining a great team here at the University of Michigan-Flint. Over the next few years I invite you to explore relationships with faculty across campus, including members of the College of Health Sciences (CHS). As you develop as a faculty member it is essential to establish yourself within your field. However, I challenge you to consider the intersections of fields, as they produce some of the more exciting research and scholarship opportunities. In exploring those intersections, please consider partnerships with CHS faculty and programs. We currently offer programs in physical therapy, nurse anesthesia, medical laboratory sciences, radiation therapy, and public health with foci in health care administration and health education.
We actively seek opportunities to collaborate across school/college lines. We have several dual degree programs with the School of Management, work closely with the College of Arts and Sciences for our support courses, and are open to opportunities with the School of Education and Human Services. We are in the process of adding other health profession programs, with occupational therapy under development, and a joint program in respiratory therapy with Mott Community College in the proposal phase. This is an exciting time for research on our campus and the CHS faculty are interested in collaborations. If you have research interests that may intersect with the health professions or public health, please contact me to connect you with faculty who share common interests.
Good luck as you engage in your new position!
