If types of financial aid do not fully cover the tuition and fees, then UM-Flint makes up the difference and pays for the student\u2019s full tuition using the Go Blue Guarantee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b16e2fdc1332a9b8367b193fa817b299\" id=\"check\">Who Qualifies for the Go Blue Guarantee?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To receive the Go Blue Guarantee, an individual must be a Michigan resident pursuing their first bachelor\u2019s degree. They must be either a first-year student or transfer from another institution and enroll in full-time study; part-time students are not eligible.&nbsp;<br><br>Additionally, students must complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid<\/a> each year and meet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umflint.edu\/finaid\/applying-for-aid\/#elig-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eligibility requirements<\/a> to be considered. Continuing students must make <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umflint.edu\/finaid\/applying-for-aid\/#sat-pro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Satisfactory Academic Progress<\/a> to receive any financial assistance from UM-Flint.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover h-auto\" style=\"min-height:50px;aspect-ratio:unset;\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-cover__background has-primary-background-color has-background-dim-100 has-background-dim\"><\/span><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-cover-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-container container mb-2 mt-4\">\n\t\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center mt-3 mb-4 has-secondary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-274fbe7b309f173ef021f31af2ca752f\">Go Blue Guarantee&nbsp;<strong>NEW<\/strong>&nbsp;Eligibility Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">Students starting at the University of Michigan-Flint during the summer 2025 semester or after must qualify for the Go Blue Guarantee based on their high school (for incoming freshmen) or transfer GPA (for transfer students). \u00a0Eligibility for Go Blue Guarantee cannot be achieved through coursework at UM-Flint as a continuing student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-link-color wp-elements-a2b748db0c0dd7e9fdd376197d4ba7e4\">You are eligible for in-state&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umflint.edu\/studentaccounts\/tuition-fees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tuition<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eligibility is assessed once per year for an entering student.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are eligible to apply for financial aid and have filed the FAFSA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have family incomes of $125,000 or less and assets below $125,000.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are a degree-seeking student pursuing your first bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are enrolled full time (12 or more credits per semester).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First-time students will begin with eight semesters of eligibility. Any dual enrolled or transfer credit will count against these eight semesters.*<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet the grade point average requirements:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Incoming students (first-year) must have a 3.5 GPA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfer students must have a 3.5 GPA. Credit hours that are added or dropped after the published date will not increase or decrease the amount of Go Blue Guarantee a student receives unless a student fails to begin attending any courses (including part of term 3 courses).
