If you need insurance coverage, the U-M Domestic Student Health Insurance Plan through Blue Care Network of Michigan has generous benefits.&nbsp;Insurance cost for an individual student for the 2025-26 insurance plan year (coverage dates Aug. 24, 2025 to Aug. 23, 2026) is $3495.24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This insurance plan provides coverage with a wide array of benefits, including clinic visits, prescription medication, annual vision exam, hospitalization, emergency care and limited dental benefits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Annual deductible is only $100 for in-network care and $100 for out-of-network care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-network coverage is available throughout the U.S.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This plan is available to U-M students studying on campus and those who are studying remote and online students working towards a U-M degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remote and online students working towards a U-M degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DSHIP is available to enrolled U-M students and their spouses, domestic partners, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dependents under 26 (if the student is enrolled in the plan).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To enroll or learn more information, see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcbsm.com\/content\/microsites\/umich\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blue Care Network of Michigan<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uhs.umich.edu\/dship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Domestic Student Health Insurance Plan<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-x-large-font-size\">Health care services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For on-campus medical assistance including first aid, emergency treatment or medical service transport, contact the UM-Flint Department of Public Safety at 810-762-3333 or call 911. DPS will provide basic first aid, ambulance transport (as appropriate) and will contact the Emergency Medical System, if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uhs.umich.edu\/virtual-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Telehealth Services<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UM-Flint offers telehealth services for students that include episodic care, nurse advice, medication renewals, nutrition counseling, minor illness\/injury care, and sexual health (including contraception and consultation). Telehealth services are available to residential students at UM-Flint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Immunizations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Immunizations are recommended to protect your health and the health of others. We encourage you to come to college fully immunized.Immunizations are one of the most effective public health measures in preventing communicable diseases.Immunizations are not a university requirement. Students can register for classes without immunizations; however, academic programs or volunteer activities may have different requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-gotham-font-family has-medium-font-size\">The following immunizations are recommended:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/meningitis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Meningitis<\/a>: It is recommended for all first-year students living in residence halls.
