Your uniqname is the first part of your email address (for example, if your email is fredflint@umich.edu, your uniqname is fredflint).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5f500b628d35e45cdc1ea1fd1102bc0f\">Step 1: Complete the Housing Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-2021f613113fc6a19140d3eda7c93063\"><strong>Access the Application<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On the upper left of your screen, select <strong>Apps &amp; Forms<\/strong> from the menu to access the housing application. Choose the application for the term you wish to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\"><strong>Quick Fact:<\/strong> For each term you would like to live on campus, you must fill out a separate application and contract. Fall and Winter is the only joint-semester contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-f98f95c146082030340d37c59f9ee0cb\"><strong>Sign and Answer Questions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you select your application, you will be prompted to sign or type your name to continue. Next, you will answer questions based on your personal preferences. Each question is important\u2014your answers are used to match you with similar students for roommate and suitemate pairings. Be sure to answer each question as honestly as possible. Once completed, click &#8220;Continue&#8221; to move on to room preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-4ed21f39717979355322b511c2be7e19\"><strong>Select Your Room Preferences<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Please select three room types by rank, with the first being your top choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><strong>First-Time-in-Any-College Students:<\/strong> You must select First Street (First St) room types. You can edit your information by clicking the pencil icon on the right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><strong>Attention:<\/strong> If you are under 18 years of age at the time of application, you must fill in the &#8220;Parental Verification&#8221; contact so the contract can be sent to your parent or guardian to sign. Your application will not be considered complete if this step is not finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will receive a follow-up email sent to your umich email with next steps on how to sign your agreement. This email can take up to an hour to be received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d5b0ce48af6ef4405b17de9675808e8b\">Step 2: Sign the Housing Contract Agreement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After you update your addresses and contacts, go back into the housing portal Self Service tab and select <strong>Apps &amp; Forms<\/strong> to access the housing contract agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you choose which agreement you would like to sign, you will be prompted to sign or type your name. On the page, click the link to review the contract. When you hit &#8220;Continue,&#8221; this will submit the housing contract agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4e8ddd20c1826387fd34edece418ff50\">Step 3: Make Your Initial Housing Payment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pay your initial housing payment of $250 in Student Information System located in <a href=\"https:\/\/my.umflint.edu\">My UM-Flint<\/a>. This payment goes toward the total cost of housing and is not an extra fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to the My UM-Flint Portal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under SIS, click <strong>Pay Student Housing Deposit<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select your entry term<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pay deposit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Housing assignments go out on a rolling basis for summer and will be sent to your UMich email account. Fall\/winter assignments will be sent the first week in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3a1c693d6196999e5721ec018a5b8c23\">Move-In Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for move-in, you must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be enrolled in a course for the semester in which you applied to live on campus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have current balance (and previous balance if you are a returning student) paid in full or be enrolled in a payment plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c1d6b883884cdac5a04a10a60054db5b\">Cancellation Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to cancel your housing application or contract agreement, go back into the housing portal Self Service tab (where you completed your application and contract) and select the application or contract you wish to cancel under <strong>Apps and Forms<\/strong>.
