SRA and 457(b) contributions can be made on a pre-tax or after-tax (Roth) basis. Employees can choose to invest with TIAA or Fidelity Investments, or both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-secondary-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-secondary-background-color has-background mt-5 mb-5\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\">Health Insurance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As an employee, you have immediate access to health insurance and prescription drug coverage beginning on your first day of employment. The university regularly reviews all plans to ensure quality and value.<br><br>The University of Michigan offers a choice among several plans and plan types, including comprehensive major medical, HMO, and preferred provider organization (PPO). Coverage also is available for dependents who meet age and other guidelines.<br><br>Employees can pair any U-M health plan with a pre-tax healthcare Flexible Spending Account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-secondary-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-secondary-background-color has-background mt-5 mb-5\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\">Staff Tuition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\"><strong>Flint Campus Staff Members attending UM-Flint: <\/strong>Eligible staff members may receive up to 100% of in-state tuition and fees paid from a central fund, as long as funds are available and a passing grade(s) is attained, for up to 18 credits maximum per fiscal year.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Flint Campus Staff Members attending classes at UM-Dearborn or Ann Arbor:<\/strong> Eligible staff members may receive 75% of the cost of in-state tuition, plus registration fees, for up to 4 credit hours per term or up to 12 credit hours per year from the central fund as long as funds are available.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Flint Campus Staff Members attending classes outside<\/strong> <strong>U-M: <\/strong>Eligible UM-Flint staff may receive 75% of in-state tuition and fees, for up to 4 credit hours per term or up to 12 credit hours per year from the central fund as long as funds are available.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Dependent Tuition Scholarship<\/strong><br>UM-Flint now offers a scholarship for those qualified dependents of employees from all four campuses; Flint, Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and the UM Medical Center.<br><br>Four types of individuals are eligible for the Dependent Tuition Scholarship:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>IRS-dependent1 children of faculty\/staff&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spouses&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other Qualified Adults (OQAs)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IRS-dependent1 children of OQAs&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-secondary-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-secondary-background-color has-background mt-5 mb-5\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\">Prescription Drug Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All eligible participants in university health plans are automatically enrolled in the U-M Prescription Drug Plan, which covers most prescription drugs with no deductible. The plan offers a nationwide network of retail pharmacies, as well as a convenient mail order service with reduced copays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-secondary-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-secondary-background-color has-background mt-5 mb-5\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\">Dental Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Michigan Dental Plan is administered through the Delta Dental of Michigan.
