ICC 'Whiteness' Dialogue Series

This Fall 2016 semester the Intercultural Center will be holding a series of dialogues about 'whiteness'. 


ICC ‘Whiteness’ Dialogue Series: Session One

Tuesday, September 27th 2016

7:00 - 9:00 PM

Intercultural Center - 115 University Center

Session One will explore white identity with the goal of exploring the value of diversity for white people and other privileged groups and deconstructing the view that diversity and social justice work are subtractive or unfair for whites. 

ICC ‘Whiteness’ Dialogue Series: Session Two

Tuesday, October 18th 2016​

7:00 - 9:00 PM

Intercultural Center - 115 University Center

Session Two will explore the concept of “white guilt” and “white shame” and how whites can move past these feelings to fully heal and participate as allies in diversity leadership.


ICC ‘Whiteness’ Dialogue Series: Session Three

Wednesday, November 16th 2016

7:00 - 9:00PM

Intercultural Center - 115 University Center

Session Three will be a dialogue on white male-ness and the discussion will provide a space for white males to talk about their challenges and successes in doing social justice and diversity leadership work and how they are able to use their privilege in the benefit of anti-racist struggle and diversity leadership.
