COVID-19 MCARD PRODUCTION INFORMATION

 

EXPIRED CARDS

ITS and DPS will be extending the expiration date of Mcards expiring during the pandemic until 8/1/2020*.  This will allow Mcards to continue to work on door swipes despite the expiration date printed on the physical Mcard.  This will apply to all employees, contractors, vendors, and NBC tenants.  Please note that only cards of essential employees and students living in residence halls will be granted access to designated buildings during this time.  If you must return to campus to perform an essential duty you will need to work with your supervisor and DPS to gain access.  

 

REQUESTING AN MCARD - ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES

Only individuals who are considered healthy “essential employees” as defined by the University and have a damaged or lost/stolen Mcard may request a replacement Mcard. 

UM-Flint essential employees requiring a Mcard can send an email to flint.its.support@umich.edu or create a ticket with the ITS Helpdesk. The email/ticket should contain the following information:

  • Uniqname
  • Eight-digit UMID number
  • Indicate problem with the current Mcard
  • Reason for the critical need

For those essential employees whose Mcard is non-functional, lost, or stolen, ITS will once a week reprint Mcards using the photo on file in the system.  Mcards will then be placed in an interoffice envelope addressed to the employee and delivered to the mailroom.  Once the reprinted card has been delivered to the mailroom, ITS will update the ticket so employees can contact the mailroom and schedule the pick up of the new card.   

Do not visit campus until you receive confirmation that your card has been printed and is ready for pickup in the mailroom.

 

Non-Essential Mcards

All UM-Flint campus Mcard stations are closed until further notice.  Non-essential cardholders will be required to wait until campus reopens for normal business to receive a replacement Mcard.
