wp-elements-533fae930317e4910f528810749748dc\">Applying for Dual Enrollment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you a motivated high school student ready to challenge yourself with college-level coursework? UM-Flint\u2019s dual enrollment programs are designed for students who excel academically and are eager to get a head start on their college journey. Review the qualifications below to see if you\u2019re eligible\u2014and learn how to begin your application process for Early College, DEEP or traditional dual enrollment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-54ed191a2249410d78e3f9915121f94b\"><strong>Dual Enrollment Program Qualifications&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dual enrollment is open to highly motivated high school students. Eligibility is determined through a selection process and criteria developed collaboratively by the school district and UM-Flint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">General Expectations for Program Enrollees:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A minimum overall grade point average of 3.0.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A demonstrated interest in pursuing post-secondary studies in a relevant professional field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The capability and motivation to succeed in rigorous college-level coursework.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A favorable recommendation from a school principal or counselor, addressing the applicant\u2019s academic preparation in a college preparatory curriculum\u2014this includes successful completion of at least three years of high school English with strong writing skills, as well as other indicators of readiness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Some specialized DEEP programs may have additional requirements.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-439207d378faa953611f04079636d77f\">Dual Enrollment Application Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re applying for Early College, DEEP or traditional dual enrollment at UM-Flint, you\u2019ll need to complete two steps. Application deadlines vary by district; most are due at the end of February or early March for the following academic year. Please check with your guidance office for your specific date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-73a9ba00cdb0e9f0e71144f0d9b7a046\"><strong>1. Paper Supplemental Application<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">This one-page form is available in your high school guidance office, or you can print a supplemental application at one of the links below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1BkThUbqwNWxKXBQ3i7inlz9N0OlUg5uu\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Print only DEEP and Early College Supplemental Application<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1BVri8FFNf92eobUS8aL5KeblfmLLRxAm\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Print only Traditional Dual Enrollment Supplemental Application\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Both the student&#8217;s and the parent\/guardian&#8217;s signatures are required. <span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">By signing, students waive certain&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umflint.edu\/registrar\/student-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\">FERPA rights<\/a>, allowing the university and t<\/span>heir high school to communicate about their application and share their grades\/transcripts each semester. Return your completed paper supplemental application to your high school guidance counselor by your school\u2019s deadline. They will return your supplemental application, along with a copy of your high school transcripts, to our office for review and processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-9f4b8764300b830ec4405bf0dd2b0398\"><strong>2. Online Application<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">Next, complete the free UM-Flint online application.
