Counseling, Accessibility, and Psychological Services (CAPS)
CAPS provides services to enrolled students that help to maximize their academic and personal potential. Students are provided with counseling, therapy, and limited psychological testing. Workshops are available on topics such as stress management, test anxiety, time management, and healthy relationships. Support services and assistive technology is available for students with physical and/or psychiatric disabilities, either permanent or temporary. CAPS advocates on behalf of students in arranging ADA accommodations for their classes and campus activities. All services are provided at no charge to students. Transgender Connect Transgender Connect is here to provide support to Flint and Gennesse County area. We are here to make lasting Connections and to keep the community informed of information that directly affects them in the state of Michigan.
PFLAG Parents and Friends of Lesbians And Gays is a national organization supporting those close to LGBT individuals. Discussion topics include dealing with a child's or friends sexuality, dealing with parental fears, and working with children and friends for better understanding. LGBT individuals are also invited to share their stories and gain support from the community. The organization has several community chapters, including one in Genesee County. Meetings are held every second Sunday of the month from 3:00-4:00 at the Unitarian Universalist Church.
