  • The Flint Festival of Writers: (formerly Flint Literary Festival) is a two-day event held in locations throughout the city to celebrate and support writers and writing around the community. 

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

  • Campus Voter Registration: Register to vote, and complete other Secretary of State tasks on campus this day

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION

  • Intercultural Cookout: Join the ICC and various cultural and diversity-related student orgs, offices, and academic units for food and fellowship
  • Peace Walk: Join international students and friends as we take a walk through campus to honor, celebrate, and promote peace
  • International Center Open House: Meet the International Center Team. Learn about their services and how they assist international students

  • Women Crush Wednesdays: Join us to honor and salute the women who are challenging stereotypical norms and changing the world. Snacks! Co-hosted by Feminist Forward Student Group.

  • College of Health Sciences Welcome Back: The Dean will welcome all CHS and healthcare-interested students. Include games, food, and program information as well as student group participation.
  • Rec Bash: Learn about the programs & offerings! Club Sports will be in attendance, check out a fitness class, register for intramural sports, or simply get a tour of the building. Be sure to bring a t-shirt from a different school for our t-shirt trade-in, and get a Wolverines shirt for FREE.

  • CHS Welcome Picnic: Dean Donna Fry invites health career-interested students to join us for snacks, games, and swag. Learn about CHS and all it has to offer.
  • PT HEART Open House: PT Heart (Physical Therapy, Health Education, & Rehabilitation Treatment) is a student-led, pro-bono clinic located in the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village
  • Wyatt Exploration Program Kick off: This year's Wyatt Exploration Program events of film showings and guest lecturers on the topic of the coming trip: Ireland: Islands of Saints and Heroes
  • Symbiosis: Symbiosis is a casual, getting-to-know-you event for UM-Flint biology students and faculty.
  • University Outreach Community & Campus Picnic: Please join UM-Flint's Office of University Outreach to celebrate our community partnerships and the beginning of the semester with a picnic featuring free food, ice cream, UM-Flint's jazz ensemble, a service activity, and tours of the Ferris Wheel.
  • Public Safety Open Forum: An annual event designed to build relationships between the police and the Flint community. Come see how a variety of safety vehicles work, sit in the driver’s seat, and beep the horn.

  • Student Health Insurance Enrollment: Health insurance enrollment specialists will be available to discuss the various health insurance options for UM-Flint students including Medicaid and the new UM Student Health Insurance Plan through Blue Care Network.
