Established through a partnership between the Beecher Community Schools and the University of Michigan-Flint, the purpose of the Neff Center is to mutually enrich University and northern Flint communities through place-based education, research, and student services.

The facility includes offices, space for classes and community meetings, and offers access to UM-Flint student services and college positive experiences for Beecher students. The Neff Center also serves as a home base for University students and faculty working on projects in northern Flint communities in support of faculty research, collaborative work, and community-based teaching and learning opportunities.

First opened in March of 2013, the 3500 sq. ft. facility occupies the northwest wing of Beecher Community School District’s high school. A full time UM-Flint staff member from UM-Flint Center for Educator Preparation serves as Site Coordinator to assist visitors to the Center.
