Our team works closely with corporate partners to identify win-win partnerships and collaborative opportunities that advance the mission of both organizations. Our team provides resources, counsel and connections for faculty and staff that facilitate industry partnerships and research funding. 

C.S. Mott Engaged Learning Scholarship

The C.S. Mott Engaged Learning Scholarship's purpose is to support global and domestic engaged learning opportunities (internships) for all students, regardless of financial status. Engaged learning encompasses a wide range of valuable experiences such as internships, industry-based classroom projects, and various other hands-on learning endeavors related to the student's career field. Students who are currently participating or planning to take part in an engaged learning experiences are encouraged to apply for the scholarship. The scholarship is a one-time award of $500-$1500.  

Scholarship Guidelines:
Must be a current UM-Flint student
Applicants must be currently completing or beginning the engaged learning experience within one month of application
Scholarship is open to students from all majors
Awarded students will be required to submit a report upon the completion of the engaged learning experience. 

Examples of awarded amount and purpose:
$500 - incidental cost such as travel assistance (gas, additional childcare costs, etc) 
$1000 - payment for unpaid or lower paid internship, larger classroom projects, combination of several factors
$1500 - international travel cost for engaged learning opportunities, domestic internships greater than 120 miles from campus, travel and accommodation assistance, payment for unpaid or low paid internships. 
These are a few examples and not an inclusive list. Please provide as much detail as possible when completing the application.  

Applicants will be notified via email by the 5th of the month following the deadline.

Deadlines are March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15.
