Deborah Filos, MSN, RN
Professor Filos is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. She received her Diploma in Nursing from Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit, MI, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Detroit, and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Professor Filos has been a practicing RN for 38 years in the areas of adult medical surgical nursing, adult intensive care nursing, pulmonary and critical care research, and pre-licensure nursing education.
Professor Filos has been in the School of Nursing since 1993, serving as both a clinical and theory instructor for Fundamentals of Nursing, Introduction to Professional Nursing, Adult Care 1, Medical Surgical Nursing, Advanced Medical Surgical Nursing and Nursing Research.
RESEARCH AND SCHOLARSHIP
Professor Filos's interests include the best practices for adult medical/surgical nursing and current updates in nursing education including student success and retention strategies.
Professor Filos serves as the Chair of the School of Nursing Undergraduate Academic Standards Committee and she is the Faculty Advisor for the University of Flint, School of Nursing Student Nurses' Association.
