Jamie Koonmen, MSN, RN

Associate Director RN to BSN Program, LEO Lecturer IV

Jamie Koonmen is the Associate Director of the RN to BSN program in the School of Nursing. She obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Western Kentucky University, her BSN from the University of Michigan-Flint and her MSN in Nursing Education from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. Ms. Koonmen has been a faculty member in the School of Nursing since 2006. She has practiced in a variety of nursing settings focusing on public/community health settings.  



Ms. Koonmen is the lead faculty for Moral and Legal Decisions in Nursing and Health Care (NSC 178/NSC180). In addition she has co-lead International Nursing Service Learning trips to Kenya.



The primary focus of Ms. Koonmen's academic scholarship is the area of nursing education with a focus on non-traditional students and online programs. Other areas of research are in International Academic Service Learning.   



Ms. Koonmen serves on the Undergraduate Faculty Committee, the Nursing Undergraduate Curriculum Committee the School of Nursing Nominating Committee and chairs the RN to BSN Program Committee. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Department of Nursing at Lansing Community College and Alpena Community College.
