Thanks to this grant, we can provide tuition support, travel expenses, and certification fees for RNs willing to serve as a SANE in rural or medically underserved areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Positively Impact the Lives of Sexual Assault Survivors<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When a SANE trained nurse is unavailable, forensic exams are often completed by a non-SANE-trained health care provider following a checklist. This practice can affect patients&#8217; long-term mental and physical health and even jeopardize legal proceedings if done incorrectly.
