class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When applying, make sure to choose BSN completion as your major (NOT pre-nursing), even if you are still in your Associate Degree in Nursing or have not yet passed your National Council of State Boards of Nursing exam.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Can I start before passing my How many can I receive?<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes! UM-Flint awards&nbsp;<em>up to 30 transfer credits<\/em>&nbsp;for students with a valid nursing license, which is obtained after you pass the NCLEX. However, these credits are not granted immediately upon admission. You will receive up to 30 credits once you have both:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Passed the nursing license exam and submitted your valid nursing license to your advisor.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Completed at least one successful semester at UM-Flint in the RN to BSN program.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your license is from outside Michigan or your admissions name does not match your LARA records, just email your advisor a copy so your information stays up-to-date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you haven\u2019t passed the NCLEX yet, you can still start nursing foundation and general education courses, but you must have your license before enrolling in 400-level nursing classes. Completing a degree in one year requires a commitment to studies and focused time to complete homework assignments. However, this type of schedule is not recommended for full-time working students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The average student takes about 1 \u00bd years to complete at a part-time pace.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can start the program prior to graduating with your ADN, which can help speed up the process.
