Getting Started with Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

Collaborate Ultra is a synchronous, browser-based, virtual classroom. Its features include the use of audio, video, chat, polling, interactive whiteboard, and content-sharing tools - all designed to make the online classroom experience as robust as possible. Collaborate with the Ultra experience opens right in your browser, so you don't have to install any software to join a session. Additionally, every session may be recorded for future review/reuse.

Effective December 31, 2020, Blackboard will be discontinuing the original Collaborate web conferencing tool and access will no longer be available to faculty, staff, and students. Blackboard Collaborate Ultra will take over as the sole web and video conferencing tool within Blackboard.

Support and Training

The Office of Extended Learning will be offering several workshops covering the features and use of Blackboard Collaborate Ultra. Workshops will be offered on

  • Tuesday, July 14, 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 5, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
  • Monday, August 17, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
