UM-Flint PA Prerequisite Approvals

This guide is not a comprehensive list of all equivalent courses for the UM-Flint PA program. Other courses may fulfill these prerequisite courses.  Please refer to University of Michigan-Flint Transfer Equivalency Database for a more comprehensive list of courses that may fulfill these prerequisites.

UM-Flint PA Prerequisite Guide

Note: It is the responsibility of the student to keep current with any changes to the prerequisites and equivalent courses at other schools that may fulfill these prerequisites. 

Prerequisite Courses

1.
A minimum prerequisite GPA average of 3.0 is required.
2.
All prerequisite coursework must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or higher learning from an accredited institution of higher learning BEFORE submitting to CAPSA.
3.
Graduate-level courses will not be considered as fulfilling prerequisite courses.
4.
Pass/Fail Courses will not be considered as fulfilling prerequisite courses
5.
Courses for which credit was awarded by examination and/or advanced placement credit are not applied toward any of the prerequisites course requirements.
6.
Science prerequisites courses (human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and microbiology) must be taken within seven years from the date of the application submission.  
 

If any science courses were completed greater than seven years prior to the time of application submission, a seven-year Prerequisite Science Course Waiver Request must be obtained. If you believe you qualify for a seven-year waiver, complete the Physician Assistant Admissions Waiver Request form, prior to August 12 (early decision), and December 15 (regular decision).

Once your request has been reviewed, you will receive an email containing the request decision. Please upload any approved requests to your CASPA application before submission.

Online and in-person course work is acceptable
