wp-elements-2cf272b5436884a64d676c7825b0e40e\">Connect with Student Interns through the Flint Community Engaged Research Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Flint non-profit and community organizations with research projects addressing public health, youth development, environmental justice, food insecurity and more can engage student interns from the university through the Flint Community Engaged Research Program.&nbsp; Participating organizations can hire students, with $1,000 in salary available to each intern, per academic term, to work together as change agents to learn about the city, nonprofits, and community-engaged research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\">Community Partners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">Community partners are invited to submit project proposals via the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/1LwoAn4N2YDnhsbA7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Flint Community Engaged Research Program form<\/a>. FCERP will transfer all accepted projects to the Office of Research\u2019s domain of InfoReady (the University\u2019s internal competition site), where students can browse through the individual listings and submit applications. These applications will be forwarded to your organization for review so you can schedule interviews with the student candidates. Once your organization accepts candidates, FCERP will facilitate student hiring. FCERP will also assume other administrative responsibilities, including payroll and periodic check-ins with both you and your students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading mb-2 has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c91b86b524d5fef167bef3c4c72ac5b8\"><strong>Community Partner Orientation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">The FCERP Program Manager will conduct an orientation for community partners. This orientation will cover various aspects of the program, including student hiring, supervision, time reporting, and progress reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading mb-2 has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-291e6409e51d0461ef4f621f9c5fad02\"><strong>Stipend<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">Students are eligible to earn a maximum of $1000 per funding cycle over the course of three cycles (fall term from September to December, winter term from January to April, and summer term from May to August). Students earn an hourly rate of $15 per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading mb-2 has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-b66148e2fff85a8397fdd9e818fa4fd6\"><strong>Sample Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reviewing and analyzing archival data&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct literature reviews to identify best practices to improve your organization\u2019s services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collect, organize, and analyze data about clients, needs, services, programs, or environmental conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop promotional materials, expand social media outreach and web development\/updating<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluating the effectiveness of program evaluation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feasibility studies to propose new initiatives and action items<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct phone\/online surveys, initiate focus groups, and use exploratory methods to gather data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading mb-2 has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c9e26376a49b0d96584d1b2046d8e51f\"><strong>Community Partner Application Deadlines<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fall Cycle: Last Friday in August<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Winter Cycle: Last Friday in December<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Summer Cycle: Last Friday in April<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\">Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"mb-2\">All prospective FCERP students must search for and apply to a project through the InfoReady site.
