“Going into the program, I never expected the students to be so enthusiastic and hands-on. It was amazing seeing all of them take the event and turn it into something much bigger. It was definitely an amazing learning experience for everyone involved. I wish I would have participated in something like that when I was in high school and trying to decide what field of study I wanted to pursue!” - Ashley Hardacre, UM-Flint Student Volunteer

Participants of the Summer Entrepreneurship Institute toured the Flint Ferris Wheel, which is one of the central hubs for innovation in the community. They were welcomed with a fascinating presentation by Phil Hagerman, which included his history with Diplomat Pharmacy and his other ventures.
The main activity the students focus on during their three days is generating and developing an idea for a new product/service. Teams of three to four students create a short presentation and pitch their idea to their peers and instructors.
Students have lunch with entrepreneurs one day during the camp. The entrepreneurs and students interact to discuss ideas, innovation, and entrepreneurial experiences. (Photos above are from 2018 Summer Entrepreneurship Institutes)
Photoshoot break with the students! Where will these smiling faces go? The sky is not the limit, but it is only the beginning for them on their entrepreneurial endeavors!
