Thomas A. Lechner, CPA, CMA, CGMA

Lecturer of Accounting

Dr. Lechner has been an accounting academic for over 30 years, teaching at Cleveland State University, the University of Utah, among other schools.  He teaches financial accounting, managerial accounting, and auditing.  He has over 10 research publications in academic journals, Journal of Business, Finance, and Accounting, and practitioner journals, Strategic Finance and Today’s CPA, and educational journals, Journal of Accounting Education.  He got his Ph.D. in Accounting from University at Buffalo, and has BA and MS in Economics from Carleton College and Iowa State University.  He is a CPA, spending 4 years as an auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co. in their Chicago office.  He is also a CMA and CGMA. Tom enjoys attending his son’s soccer games and getting beaten in 5k-10k races by his son.  He can still beat his son in chess, but that is likely to reverse shortly.
