UM-Flint Engaged Staff Program

Staff Council is pleased to support a program that encourages and honors staff engagement on campus and in the community.

The mission of the Engaged Staff program is not merely to give accolades for campus service, but to also acknowledge the special roles that UM-Flint staff play in the success of our students, faculty, campus, and community.

Activities may include:

  • Attend a Staff Council meeting or event
  • Advise a student organization
  • Attend a student event or program
  • Serve as a student mentor (Invest in Your Success Program)
  • Have lunch or coffee with a new employee
  • Nominate a colleague for campus recognition
  • Participate in Convo with the Council
  • Participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. day of service (January)
  • Participate in a professional development opportunity
  • Take part in a campus recruitment event
  • Participate in M-Healthy and/or attend a Wellness Series event
  • Participate in Alternative Spring Break (March)
  • Volunteer to assist with the Student Research Conference  (March)
  • Volunteer for commencement (December, May)
  • Volunteer for New Student Convocation (September)
  • Attend a campus event (including but not limited to those sponsored by the TCLT, Women’s Educational Center, LGBT Center, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Student Life, Recreation Center, University Outreach, Human Resources, etc.)
