Adding Course(s)

If you add a course(s), the tuition and fees associated with the course(s) will be added to your student account.  You can view your account activity by term in the Student Account Center.

A student who registers starting the first official day of the semester will be assessed a late registration fee. 

Dropping Course(s)

If you drop a course or withdraw (drop all courses) there may be a monetary adjustment to your student account.  Please refer to the Registrar Calendar for specific dates and times that will help determine what your monetary adjustment may be to your student account.

If you are receiving financial aid, you will need to check with the Office of Financial Aid to see if they will be doing any adjustments to your aid as a result of dropping or withdrawing.

Withdrawal

Students may withdraw from the University (i.e., drop all courses) up to and including the last day of classes without petitioning the Academic Standards Committee. Courses affected by a withdrawal will receive “W” grades. See semester calendar at https://www.umflint.edu/registrar/academic-calendars. Non Attendance of courses does not result in an automatic withdrawl.

  1. During the Fall or Winter Semester a student who withdraws:

    1. during the first or second week of classes is assessed a $100.00 withdrawal fee.

    2. during the third through sixth week of classes is assessed one-half the tuition plus fees.

    3. after the sixth week of classes is assessed full tuition plus fees.

  2. During the Spring or Summer, a student who withdraws:

    1. during the first or second week of classes is assessed a $100.00 withdrawal fee.

    2. during the third week of classes is assessed one-half the tuition plus fees.

    3. after the third week of classes is assessed full tuition plus fees.

    4. from a class that extends over both the Spring and Summer Term, is assessed under the guidelines of (Part I.).

Fee Appeal

Fee appeals are used to request exceptions to the existing refund policy under extenuating circumstances. The deadline for submitting a fee appeal is 90 days after the end of the semester being appealed. Course(s) that are being appealed must be officially dropped or withdrawn from before the Fee Appeal will be reviewed.
