wp-elements-be4d33a6803b7aabc4a63ecfe5e08e2e\">Transfer Student Pre-Orientation Checklist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is a checklist of important items to complete prior to your on-campus orientation. These will help you to be better prepared for your session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-ef1a74e37a49a01d7e9a7ccd652fd844\"><strong>Before Attending:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200b1. <strong>Take any needed placement exams<\/strong>:\u00a0 You can find them in your <a href=\"http:\/\/canvas.flint.umich.edu\">Canvas<\/a> account. Log in with your uniqname and password. Students should complete placement exams prior to meeting with their advisor, if at all possible.\u00a0 [In the absence of applicable transfer coursework, placement exams are necessary for academic advising and course registration.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp; <strong>Meet with your academic advisor: <\/strong>&nbsp;Meet with an academic advisor to pick out courses and to get registered. You can view your advisor and their contact information in <a href=\"https:\/\/sis.umflint.edu\/\"><strong>SIS<\/strong><\/a> under the Student Records tab.&nbsp; You can also contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umflint.edu\/studentsuccess\/student-success-center\"><strong>Student Success Center<\/strong><\/a> for help finding out who your advisor is.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Complete the Sexual Misconduct Training online module. This program is UM-Flint&#8217;s online sexual assault and prevention program that all students are required to take. Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/my.umflint.edu\"><strong>my.umflint.edu<\/strong><\/a> and within the \u201c<strong>Popular Links &amp; Services<\/strong>\u201d section, select <strong>Sexual Misconduct Training. <\/strong>You will need to log in with your uniqname and LAN password.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. <a href=\"https:\/\/mcard.umflint.edu\/\"><strong>Get your MCard<\/strong><\/a>. The MCard is your UM-Flint photo identification card that gives you access to various campus resources. This online portal allows you to submit a suitable photo ID prior to your orientation date. Submitted Mcard photos are subject to approval, and should resemble a traditional Driver&#8217;s License or other ID photo.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-88db2c8793ca0c5d4cb23faaf49a5340\"><strong>Day of Orientation:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your Orientation is held in the Riverfront Center &#8211; Parking information can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umflint.edu\/campus-map\">Campus Maps<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your Orientation is held in the University Center or the Murchie Science Building, Please park in the Mill Street parking ramp. Address: Mill Street Parking Deck 402 Mill St Flint, MI 48502<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will need your UMID#, unique name and password to complete some of the activities &#8211; please be sure to bring them if you don\u2019t have them memorized! Don\u2019t forget your charged device for DUO!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are feeling unwell the day of your orientation, we ask that you please reschedule the orientation session you attend.
