All Theatre & Dance students work with a professional academic advisor in addition to faculty advisors to ensure they are on track to graduate in a timely and cost-effective manner. Schedule an appointment with Khalilah to:

  • Discuss which courses are right for you

Festivals and associations

Below you'll find useful information for taking your theatre education to the next level, whether it is at a theatre or dance conference, in another country in a study aborad course or on the stage at a professional theatre.  We give you the foundation, but you make it happen.

AMERICAN COLLEGE DANCE FESTIVAL ASSOCIATION

ACDFA is an organization that promotes the wealth of talent and creativity that is prominent throughout college and university dance departments. UM-Flint is an active member of the East Central region and participates in the yearly festival. Students showcase their own choreography and participate in workshops given by dance professionals. KENNEDY CENTER AMERICAN COLLEGE THEATRE FESTIVAL

KCACTF is a national theatre program that supports university theatres. UM-Flint is an active member of Region 3 (Midwest) and participates in the yearly festival. At the festivals, students present their designs, compete for acting scholarships and accolades, and view a wide variety of theatre performances. UNITED STATES INSTITUTE FOR THEATRE TECHNOLOGY

Members of USITT meet every year for a national conference. New industry ideas are shared and networking happens. Check out the website link below for more information on this year's conference.
