The United Student Government (USG) of Michigan Conference will bring together all 15 public universities to address student issues in the State of Michigan. The conference will have legislative and non-legislative sessions. Each delegation is encouraged to submit resolutions that will be discussed and voted on at the United Legislative Session in the hopes of statewide Student Government ratification.
Sponsored By: Students of Michigan Committee
Breakout Sessions are composed of legislative and non-legislative sessions. Each session will have a content expert and a student government session chair. If you are interested in chairing a session please fill out the form.
Legislative sessions highlight submitted resolutions submitted by participating institutions. These sessions involve reviewing the proposed resolution and workshopping the content so that it can be voted on by other campuses at the United Legislative Session (ULS).
Non-legislative sessions function more as presentations and round tables – depending on the chair of the session.
United Legislative Session
The United Legislative Session is similar to your General Assembly meetings. Resolution is workshopped during the legislative sessions, and resolutions are voted on by the 15 Schools. Resolutions that are passed during the United Legislative Session will be put into a packet that will be sent out to all institutions no later than one week after the conference. Each institution will have the opportunity to ratify any legislation in the packet; if you have any questions about this process, please feel free to contact us!
