Innovation<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-row row\">\n\t\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-8\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<p>As the Vice Provost for Engaged Learning and Teaching Innovation, my professional portfolio encompasses broad oversight of various areas, including the Center for Global Engagement, the Honors Program, International and Global Studies, the Office of Online and Digital Education, the Thompson Center for Learning and Teaching, MI-ACE, and the Common Read initiative. This diverse grouping represents a holistic commitment to fostering an inclusive and globally-minded academic community at our university. It reflects our collective efforts toward a positive experience for all students, faculty, and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since beginning my journey at UM-Flint as a lecturer in 2000, my core values have served as the essential foundation of my professional life \u2014 values that emphasize deep connections with students and colleagues, hard work and resilience in the face of adversity, and a steadfast focus on personal and professional growth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-4\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"370\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www-s3.umflint.edu\/wp\/blogs.dir\/75\/files\/2025\/11\/Sapna_V_Thwaite.jpg\" alt=\"Sapna V. My teaching, research and service endeavors continue to center around the foundational belief that identity is integral to leadership development. My research in leadership identity and crisis leadership, informed by my accompanying professional experiences, looks to foster adaptability and endurance within higher education contexts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through my service to our campus community over the years, I have strived to create a more inclusive and psychologically safe environment for all.
