University of Michigan-Flint students, alumni and friends, there’s no better way to enjoy the fall. Join us in celebrating on campus for our Wolverine Homecoming 2025. Homecoming activities will occur the week ahead of the Oct. 4 Michigan men’s football game against the University of Wisconsin.

This year’s is packed with exciting events designed to bring alumni, students, faculty and friends together in favorite spaces both on campus and downtown Flint.

Tug of War Tournament
4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. | First Street Residence Hall Lawn
Starting with the freshmen-sophomore classes in the 1960s, tug-of-war took place over Gilkey Creek, which was adjacent to the Mott Memorial Building, the original location of UM-Flint.
Alumni Trivia Night
6 p.m. | Queens’ Provisions
Kick off Homecoming week with an evening of fun and friendly competition! Join fellow alum and trivia host Jon Mateen at Queens’ Provisions for drinks, laughs, and brain-busting questions. Space at this event is limited; grab your team and register early!
October 2
Welcome BLAK Soirée
7 p.m. | Riverfront Conference Center
Reconnect, reflect, and celebrate at this special gathering hosted by the Black Student Union. Designed for BSU alumni to connect with current students, the Welcome BLAK Soirée is open to all and offers powerful networking and community-building moments. Doors open at 7 p.m., and Dinner starts at 7:30 p.m.

A Blue Carpet Affair
6:30 p.m. | Northbank Center Ballroom
Our signature event is back—now in the beautiful Northbank Center Ballroom. Enjoy an unforgettable evening of dinner, drinks, and dancing as we roll out the blue carpet for alumni and friends. This year marks the fourth annual celebration—don’t miss it!
Wolverine Homecoming Dance
6 p.m. – 9 p.m. | Riverfront Conference Center
Join us for the UM-Flint Homecoming Dance: Starry Night, a magical evening of music, dancing, and glowing Wolverine pride. Dress to impress and get ready to shine beneath the stars.
October 4
Homecoming Watch Party
noon – 3:30 p.m. | The Capitol Theatre
Experience game day like never before at the historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Flint. Watch the Wolverines take on Wisconsin on the big screen and enjoy a lively street fair with food, drinks, inflatables, and family-friendly fun.
Homecoming Game Day Street Party
10 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Second Street outside of FIM Capitol Theatre
Get ready to show your Maize & Blue spirit at the Homecoming Game Day Street Party! Join us as we fill the street with music, food trucks, games, and plenty of Wolverine pride.
Whether you’re looking to network, cheer on your team, dance the night away, or enjoy family-friendly fun, there’s something for everyone. Mark your calendar, make your plans, and come back to campus for a week that celebrates where you’ve been and all the places we’re going together.
Accommodations
Riverfront Residence Hall is an option for alumni and families attending Homecoming 2025! Located in the heart of downtown Flint, Riverfront is a close walk to restaurants, businesses, and all the campus events. Free parking is available as part of your stay!
Private Suite
Individuals can reserve the full suite for their group of three or four friends/family and will be responsible for the full cost of the suite. All suites have single twin-size beds, a shared kitchenette, common areas and bathrooms.
- Three-bedroom suite with one and a half bathrooms = $115 per night, per suite/per night
- Four-bedroom suite with two full bathrooms = $125 per night, per suite/per night.
The booking person is responsible for full payment. Suite costs will not be divided among guests.
Shared Suite
A shared suite is similar to a bed and breakfast, where each occupant has a private bedroom (twin bed) but shares the kitchenette, bathroom, and common areas with two to three other individuals of the same gender.
All rooms have bed linens and towels.
Payment in full is expected at the time of check-in via check or money order, payable to the University of Michigan-Flint. Credit card payments can be made by calling Housing & Residential Life at 810-237-6571 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Check-in is available after 3 p.m. on the date of arrival.
Check-out is at noon on the date of departure.
