ENG 109 and the Writing Center

The Writing Center's English 109 course allows you to earn academic credit while gaining experience with writing and peer review. We give you short assignments and help you experiment with voice, detail, audience, argument, form, genre, and artistic methods. We want the course to cause your thoughts and feelings about writing to change in a way that causes your writing to change. There is no homework or textbook - all work is done in the Writing Center or in class. You supply the paper, ink, and effort, while we supply the environment and audience for your work. All we ask of you is that you write every time you come to the Writing Center, discuss each piece of writing with your tutor and/or group, and make a genuine commitment to improving your writing.
