Parking

For spectators and visiting teams coming to the Recreation Center, please utilize the parking garage at 402 Mill Street. Parking after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends does not require a permit. Teams, if you are traveling by bus, there is a circle drive directly in front of the Rec Center for easy unloading. Buses may park in the lot next to the Recreation Center.

Hotels

For teams staying overnight, we recommend looking for hotel accommodations in these areas:

  • Hilton Garden Inn (Downtown Flint, adjacent to campus)
  • 1-75 & I-69 interchange at Miller Road (Flint/Flint Township)
  • 1-75 & US 23 interchange at Hill Road (Flint/Grand Blanc)

Food & Activities

There are many great restaurants near campus and around Flint. If you’re here on a Saturday, check out the Flint Farmers’ Market (indoors, open year-round). Flint is also home to one of the most extensive collection of street murals. You can find a map of the 100+ works of art here, so you can visit them in person. Flint also boasts the state’s second largest art museum, the Flint Institute of Arts.

If you’re in a mood for shopping, there’s the Genesee Valley Center in Flint Township and Great Lakes Crossing Outlet Center down in Auburn Hills. The city of Frankenmuth is also not far from campus, which has many shops, activities, and is home to the world’s largest Christmas store.

Locker Rooms

For teams competing at the University of Michigan-Flint Recreation Center, locker room and shower access is available upon request.
