The Rough Draft Cafe:
Community Writing Center

The University of Michigan-Flint’s Community Writing Center, the Rough Draft Cafe, provides writing support services to community members.

Whether you need writing tools and strategies to tune up your resume or just a sounding board for your next writing project, our staff are expert listeners who can help you make your voice heard.

We are happy to work with academic, creative, and professional writing on a first-come, first-served basis.

Thursdays, 2 -5 p.m.

Session length: Sessions typically last a maximum of 30 minutes, but can be extended if time is available and no one else is waiting for assistance.

Writers 14 or younger: We are excited to work with youth on their writing. However, we require a parent or guardian over 18 to sign the student in and remain in the library. We also ask for a parent or guardian’s phone number in case of an emergency.
