Accreditation Report Submission and Communication Process
The University of Michigan-Flint is committed to offering high quality academic programs. External accreditation of our programs by professional organizations and accrediting bodies affirms our standard of high quality. This accreditation report submission and communication process establishes standards to maintain this commitment of the University.
- Accreditation self-study reports will be reviewed in its draft format for feedback and approved for submission by the program director, Dean of the academic unit and by the Provost Office. Reports should be submitted to the Dean and the Provost Office at the same time for feedback. It is the responsibility of the programs to address the feedback provided.
- Deans will communicate the due dates for self-study reports to the Provost Office at the beginning of an academic year for planning purposes.
- Final copies of accreditation reports, team reports, and the accreditation status letters will be kept in a depository at the Provost Office and by the Higher Learning Commission Accreditation Liaison Officer (HLC ALO).
- Provost Office will work with the HLC ALO to maintain a database of accreditation status, last and upcoming review dates. These will be posted at Accreditations for the public.
- Significant changes to the accreditation status will be immediately reported to the Dean and to the Provost Office and HLC ALO.
- Significant changes to the accreditation status will be appropriately communicated to the program students.
