Strategic Plan Components

During fall 2025, the University of Michigan-Flint campus reviewed its mission and vision, and defined the values that will guide our new strategic plan. Numerous stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other community members, provided input that resulted in the reaffirmation of our mission, the update of our vision for the future, and the articulation of the shared values we embrace as we work together to realize our vision.

The UM-Flint is a comprehensive urban university of diverse learners and scholars, committed to advancing local and global communities. In the University of Michigan tradition, we value excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarship; student centeredness; and engaged citizenship. Through personal attention and dedicated faculty and staff, UM-Flint students become leaders and best in their fields, professions and communities.
