Important Information

  • The next ceremony will occur at 2:30 p.m., Dec. 13 at the Dort Financial Center. 
  • Dort Financial Center is located at 3501 Lapeer Rd, Flint, MI 48503.
  • Parking is $10 per vehicle and is cash only.
  • There is no guest limit; however, the arena can comfortably accommodate eight guests per student with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The UM-Flint Bookstore can assist students in purchasing caps, gowns, hoods, invitations and other commencement items.
  • For questions or additional information, contact Kathy Thompson at kathytho@umich.edu.

Checklist

  1. Apply to graduate by Aug. 28. Questions? Contact the Registrar’s Office.
  2. Confirm that your information in SIS is correct. Your diploma will be mailed to the address on file.
  3. Watch your email for information from the Office of the Chancellor. 
  4. Have guests who need accommodations? Complete the Accommodation Form.
  5. Purchase your regalia. The UM-Flint Bookstore is happy to help!
  6. Commence! Arrive at the Dort Financial Center at least 45 minutes before your ceremony.
  7. Tell us what’s next! Complete your First Destination Survey – contact Career Services with any questions.
