  • SOM’s accounting student organization Beta Alpha Psi chapter was awarded a Superior Chapter award for 2022-2023 by the national organization.
  • Courtney Nix, one of the MSA students, was awarded a $10,000 scholarship from the PCAOB (Public Company Accounting Oversight Board) in 2023.
  • SOM’s first doctoral degree, online Doctor of Business Administration program, started in fall of 2023 with 19 students.
  • SOM’s BBA program joined the BIS program of CAS to be offered in Accelerated Online Degree Completion format this fall. The program has 63 registered students in fall 2023.
  • SOM started monthly in-person networking events bringing together faculty, staff, alumni and students from all of its programs. They are held on the 1st Tuesday of every month on the 2nd floor of Riverfront at 5:30pm. Mark Moreno, Executive Director of Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, is the speaker on November 3rd.
  • Three CHS graduate students receive national recognition. PA student Brittany Douglas was awarded a national health policy fellowship and two PT students were awarded a national scholarship.
  • Master of Public Health program receives national ranking.
  • SON Student, Jenna Isham, has become the Graduate Student Nursing Academy Liaison (GNSA) for the School of Nursing. The Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) provides high value programs, services, and resources to graduate nursing students enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs at AACN member schools as they prepare for their future nursing careers.
  • Several faculty and staff from the School of Nursing are presenting at the 24th International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH 2024) in San Diego, CA. They include Dr. Megan Keiser, Dr. Carman Turkerlson, Dr. Roxanne Buterakos, Dr. Denise Campbell, and Mr. Ronald Streetman.
  • The abstract submitted by Dr. Megan Keiser, professor of nursing, Dr. Carman Turkerlson, professor of nursing, and Dr. Roxanne Buterakos, professor of nursing, titled: “Keeping Pace: Using Innovative Technology to Create Inclusive Simulation Based Experience” has been accepted in the 24th International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH 2024) in San Diego, CA
