Progress Metrics

We are tracking our progress using a combination of student- and employer-facing metrics. These include:

  • Number of students participating in internships, co-ops, or applied learning experiences
  • Number of new or renewed MOUs with industry and community partners
  • Employer satisfaction with student preparedness
  • Student-reported career readiness and confidence
  • Participation in Curriculum to Careers events
  • Uptake of micro-credentials or other skill-based credentials

Institutional Indicators

We are also monitoring progress using two high-level institutional indicators:

  • Alignment Metric: Tracks how well academic offerings correspond to regional workforce demand. This metric helps us understand whether our programs are preparing students for the jobs available in Michigan and beyond.
  • Clock-Speed Metric: Assesses how quickly the university responds to changing workforce needs. This measures our institutional agility in updating curriculum, launching new programs, and adapting to emerging industry trends.

These metrics will help us monitor the effectiveness of the initiative and make continuous improvements.

Reporting and Transparency

Progress on these metrics will be reviewed regularly by the Steering Committee and shared in annual reports. As data becomes available, we will post updates to this site to keep the campus community informed of our progress toward initiative goals.
