Cybersecurity Research in AI, Defense, Learning and Education

Cybersecurity Research in AI, Defense, Learning and Education at the University of Michigan-Flint develops innovative, AI-supported laboratory environments for cybersecurity education and research. Supported by a National Science Foundation EAGER grant, CRADLE focuses on creating modular, scalable and secure virtual labs—known as labtainers—that allow students to safely explore cybersecurity concepts. By integrating gamification and adaptive artificial intelligence feedback, CRADLE makes cybersecurity learning interactive, data-driven and accessible for diverse learners.

Mission

CRADLE’s mission is to transform cybersecurity education through the integration of artificial intelligence, gamification and modular learning environments. The CRADLE team designs scalable, research-informed virtual labs that enable students to safely and interactively explore cybersecurity concepts. By advancing innovative, data-driven teaching methods and leveraging gamified learning experiences, CRADLE seeks to make cybersecurity education more engaging, effective and accessible to a diverse community of learners.
