Physical therapy is a growing health care profession that provides opportunity for autonomy in your patients care, flexibility in choosing a practice setting or specialty (e.g. acute care, outpatient care, home health, private practice), and the environment to interact with people where you can improve their physical performance and ability to function independently.
The Post-Professional Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy with Clinical Concentration Program (tc-DPT) is a fully online part-time or full-time program that allows the U.S. or Canadian licensed physical therapist to obtain the clinical doctorate (DPT) with an elective clinical concentration to assist students in preparing for ABPTS certification in geriatric, neurologic, orthopedic or pediatric physical therapy.
The online, part-time, Post-Professional, Physical Therapy Clinical Certificates and Residency program meets the needs of licensed U.S. and Canadian practicing physical therapists by enhancing knowledge in geriatric, neurologic, orthopedic or pediatric physical therapy.
This program is designed to address the demand for qualified faculty in DPT programs across the USA and create academic leaders in PT Education. This program enhances knowledge in important areas such as evidence-based practice in an area of advanced practice and clinical specialization, research and academic leadership. Currently, only UM-Flint DPT and Certificate/Residency students and alumni are eligible.
