Through partnerships with the Division of Student Affairs staff, our theme communities offer exciting events, hands-on learning, and opportunities to make a difference both on and off campus.

Leadership

The Leadership Residential Community is your chance to live alongside fellow changemakers and build your definition of leadership in a supportive, energizing environment.
This community invites you to go beyond titles and explore how leadership shows up in action, through collaboration, reflection, and real-world impact. With support from the Office of the Dean of Students, you will participate in conversations, workshops, and experiences that challenge you to grow as a person and a leader.
Gender & Sexuality
Live Proud. Live Connected.
The Gender & Sexuality Theme Community, in collaboration with the Center for Gender and Sexuality, offers a supportive and gender-inclusive housing option for LGBTQ+ students and their allies. It is a place where you can live, learn, and grow together.
Students in this community engage in peer-led programs, transformative dialogue, and community outreach, all while building meaningful relationships in a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment.
Honors

Are you driven by curiosity, bold ideas, and a passion to excel academically? The Honors Residential Community is designed for students in the UM-Flint Honors Program. Live among peers who will inspire, challenge, and cheer you on as you pursue academic excellence and personal growth.
In collaboration with Honors Program staff, students in this community have opportunities to engage in community service, access exclusive programming, and build skills that will prepare them to lead, serve, and thrive in college and beyond.
