Math Lab

The Math Tutor Lab in MSB 415 is a free space for students to learn and practice their mathematical coursework up through Calculus II (MTH 122). The lab is staffed by upper-level mathematics students and typically is open Monday-Thursday 9-5pm and Friday 9-1pm. Both in-person and online hours are available.

The Student Success Center works to support your effort to stay on track and graduate on time. The SSC coordinates New Student Orientation, Placement Testing, Academic Advising, Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and offers periodic academic success seminars. SSC staff are also available to answer any general questions you may have about your classes.

The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)

UROP is designed to support collaborations between UM-Flint undergraduate students and faculty researchers. UROP allows students to earn paid (or volunteer) hands-on research experience working alongside faculty on cutting-edge projects. Disability & Accessibility Support Services helps students gain equal access to their education. DASS provides support for any student with a Learning Disability, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Mental Health Concerns, among others. The office also takes reports about issues with the campus facilities for those with accessibility concerns such as elevators, snow removal, and accessibility to their classes.

DPS provides complete law enforcement services to the campus. Our police officers are licensed by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and authorized to enforce all federal, state, and local laws, and rules of the University of Michigan. Our officers are also deputized by Genesee County. Our officers are well trained in services unique to an academic institution. We are dedicated to the community policing philosophy as a way of delivering police services to our campus community.

Campus Climate Support

Creating and maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment for all to live, learn, work and thrive is a priority at UM-Flint. To that end, the university has established a Campus Climate Support team, focused on addressing concerns that may create harm to members of the university community based on their social identities.
The CCS team is committed to providing support for those who may have been targets of, or affected by, campus climate concerns. Reports of campus climate concerns by UM-Flint students, faculty and staff will be reviewed by the CCS team that will in turn work to ensure that appropriate university resources and expertise are provided to anyone who feels they have been harmed or negatively impacted.
CCS is not a disciplinary body, cannot impose sanctions, and does not require participation in any aspect of CCS’s work. CCS’s purpose is to support students, faculty or staff and connect them to resources. A longer-term desired outcome is that over time these efforts will contribute to the maintenance of respect and understanding among members of the University community, improving the campus climate for everyone.
Wolverine Essentials
Wolverine Essentials is a one-stop location for currently enrolled UM-Flint students to access basic needs services and resources linking them to supplemental food, housing resources, gently used clothing, toiletries, and other basic needs resources.
Student Veterans Resource Center
The mission of the Student Veterans Resource Center is to provide academic support to the veteran community. We assist the veteran community with their pursuit of academic and career goals while offering services tailored to the unique experiences and needs of student veterans.
