About the CARE Team
The Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation Team was created to provide a coordinated, caring response to situations that may impact student success or campus safety.
The team, consisting of campus partners with expertise in areas such as student support, mental health, crisis response and emergency services, works together to provide resources, support and interventions that create a safe, supportive and productive learning environment.
If you’re worried about yourself or someone else, you can submit a CARE concern. Reaching out early can make a big difference and help ensure students get the support they need to stay on track and feel their best, while keeping the campus community safe.
CARE Team Mission
The mission of the University of Michigan-Flint CARE Team is to provide a coordinated, caring response to situations and behaviors that have the potential to impede success and/or threaten the safety and security of the campus and learning environment. This response is tied to the parallel mission of educating and empowering campus constituents to identify and report concerns.
How to Report
Any person concerned about the safety and/or well-being of a UM-Flint student may submit a concern to the CARE Team. If you are concerned about a student or observe disruptive behavior, please submit a CARE concern to the CARE Team by:
1) Completing an online CARE report: Submit CARE Concern.
2) Contacting the Office of the Dean of Students located in 359 University Center or at 810-762-5728.
In cases of emergency, reporters must contact 911 and/or the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at 810-762-3333. The CARE Team plays a secondary role in all emergency situations and should be contacted only after making contact with emergency response personnel.
