About the Student Research Conference
The Student Research Conference is a collaborative event that brings together students from UM-Flint, Kettering University, and Mott Community College to showcase their faculty-mentored research, scholarship and creative work. Since 2011, the conference has featured interdisciplinary projects spanning the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and applied sciences. Each year, about 50 to 60 students present their work through oral and poster presentations, live performances and demonstrations. Participants also have the opportunity to publish their manuscripts in the conference proceedings.
The 2027 Student Research Conference will be held on April 2, 2027.

Student Research Conference Journal
Students who present at our annual Student Research Conference are eligible to submit their papers and presentations to the conference journal. Accepted submissions are curated into Deep Blue, the University of Michigan’s repository for scholarly work. Deep Blue allows users to easily search for articles by conference year, author, title, or subject. Additionally, each work is assigned its own “Digital Object Identifier” (DOI), a permanent URL that allows individuals to cite works without worrying about broken links.
