Flexible program
We provide what is arguably the nation’s most flexible BS in Accounting program. This program is available in the following formats:
- In person
- Remote synchronous (i.e., online, live attendance)
- Remote asynchronous (i.e., online with recordings)

Attentive professors
We employ the leaders and best. Each professor is an experienced, tested and respected accounting expert.
Several instructors are certified public accountants. Some are also employed at accounting firms.
Outside experience helps professors bring practical knowledge into the classroom.
Award-winning student groups
Accounting students have established three groups:
- Beta Alpha Psi, an honor society for financial information students
- National Association of Black Accountants
- Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
Each group provides students with opportunities to network with professionals, lead and earn recognition.
Curriculum overview
This program gives students the business and accounting knowledge they need. It emphasizes critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and an understanding of economics, laws and regulations.

Accounting courses
Continue by taking seven required accounting courses.

Accountants and auditors earned a median annual salary of $81,680 in 2024. This finding comes from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
That year, businesses employed almost 1.6 million accountants and auditors. This labor force is estimated to grow by almost 5% within a decade.
Put differently, employers will need almost 73,000 more accountants and auditors by 2034. This growth potential ranks it No. 5 on the state’s Hot 50 Job Outlook list.
