Our Commitment to Student Success

We aim to create a nurturing and supportive campus community where every student feels empowered to pursue their academic goals without the burden of unmet basic needs. To achieve this, we have developed various services and initiatives focused on providing emergency assistance and long-term support.

Understanding Student Basic Needs

In the fall of 2024, we successfully surveyed our student population to assess our student’s current basic needs. Overall, 1,999 students participated in the survey, which resulted in a 33% response rate. The results underscore the importance of supporting our student’s basic needs and their role in their success and well-being. We plan to use this information to continue partnering with the Hope Center to strengthen the support ecosystem for students at UM-Flint.
