Kozon-G was born on February 9, 2000, in Southfield, Michigan, to his loving parents, Bhavna and Daniel Thomas. From the very beginning, he carried a light that could not be dimmed—a light that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Kozon-G will be remembered for his sweet soul, gentle and calming spirit, and his deeply thoughtful and intelligent mind. His presence brought peace. His radiant smile, filled with warmth and kindness, had the power to light up any room. With sunshine in his eyes and his signature “big bear hugs,” he made people feel seen, safe, and loved.
He had a remarkable ability to find joy in life’s simplest moments and shared that joy freely through his infectious laughter and quiet strength. Kozon-G loved music, gaming, swimming, camping, listening to podcasts, reading, and cooking. He was especially proud of being a devoted “plant dad,” nurturing life with patience and care—just as he did with the people around him. He cherished the quiet moments—especially cuddling and spending time with his beloved cats, Lydia, Rosalie, and Pudding, who brought him endless comfort and joy.
One of his favorite quotes was, “Two things can be true at the same time.” This reflected his thoughtful, balanced perspective on life and his ability to hold space for complexity, truth, and grace all at once.
Kozon-G was a man of integrity, discipline, and strong work ethic. He was a proud scholarship recipient of the C.E.O. Program, where he earned his Bachelor of Science from the College of Innovation and Technology. His passion for medicine was rooted in his genuine desire to heal others and serve with purpose. He was preparing to apply to a nursing program to gain clinical experience, with plans to attend medical school and pursue his dream of becoming a surgeon.
Above all, Kozon-G lived as an ambassador for Christ, guided by unwavering faith through every season of life. We take comfort in the promise of Scripture, Proverbs 3:5–6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Kozon-G leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved mother, Bhavna Thomas; his father, Daniel Thomas; his sisters, Régeka Thomas, Phaejaré Jamerson, and Eubazengala Thomas; his brother, Raj Orr Thomas; his grandmother, Olive Thomas; his nephew, Asahn Jamerson; and his fiancé, Evann Palmer, along with a host of family, friends, and all who were blessed to know and love him.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we also rejoice in the assurance that Kozon-G’s reward is in heaven, where his soul rests in perfect peace and fullness.Until we meet again, Big Bear—you did a job well done.
Our supernova, your light will live on in each of us, always.
