BS in Sustainability & Energy Technology Program Curriculum

The Sustainability & Energy Technology curriculum puts an emphasis on building your abilities in qualitative and quantitative methods associated with policies, people, materials, environment, and information. All of which cover a broad range of sustainable and renewable processes within energy generation, storage, and distribution.

The curriculum encompasses courses in Mathematics, Physics, Thermofluids, and Engineering. It also provides two track options—Data Analytics and Entrepreneurship—for you to tailor the coursework to your career ambitions and interests.

At the end of the program, you are required to take two capstone courses where you apply your knowledge to planning and designing sustainable or renewable energy solutions that meet cost, performance, and user-interface goals.

Career Opportunities in Sustainable Energy Technology

Graduates with the Sustainability & Energy Technology degree embrace ample exciting employment opportunities, as the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) indicates steady job growth rates through 2030 in this field. Two of the fastest-growing occupations over the next decade are related to wind and solar energy, with anticipated growth rates of 68% and 52%, respectively, as compared to an overall 7% growth in all occupations.

CIT Class Scholarship

By enrolling in the Sustainability & Energy Technology bachelor’s degree program, you are eligible for the College of Innovation & Technology’s generous scholarship:

  • Given to all admitted students to a CIT program for fall 2022
  • $1,000 per semester for fall/winter in year 1
  • $500 per semester for fall/winter in years 2-4
  • A laptop that you get to keep
  • All students must have a 2.0 GPA or higher to maintain eligibility
