National Association of Colleges and Employers Competencies
In 2015, NACE launched an initiative to define career readiness and identified eight competencies needed by all graduates and desired by employers.
Career Readiness is the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for a successful transition into the workplace. These competencies provide a model for career goals and outcomes related to curricular and extracurricular activities regardless of students’ program of study.
The Office of Student Career Advancement & Success encourages students to participate in career development, experiential learning, and practical work experiences during their academic journey to develop the competencies and skills to be career-ready!
We expect students to attend or participate in presentations, workshops, seminars, or online tutorials in the following areas and/or events:
- Career Exploration
- Resume Writing
- Interviewing
- Job Searching
- Internships
- Business Etiquette
- Join a Student Organization
- Engage in Student Involvement and Leadership Programs
- Community Engagement & Volunteering
