Accreditation
UM-Flint’s teacher education programs are approved by the Michigan Department of Education and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation to offer programs in elementary education, early childhood education, selected secondary education programs, and selected programs that prepare teachers for teaching in all grades.

Enhance your understanding of working with diverse students, mental health and wellness, and supporting your students’ emotional and mental growth.
This accelerated program prepares aspiring teachers with bachelor’s degrees in any discipline to teach middle and high school in less than two years.
This part-time program is designed for principal preparation, combining online coursework with classes that meet once a month on Saturdays.
This 20-month post-master’s program is designed for working teachers and school administrators seeking to enhance their skills in leadership, communication, and administration.
This program is for practicing teachers and administrators and can be completed in as little as three years.
Career Outlook
While the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a minor decline in the number of new middle school and high school positions each year, it projects 40,500 openings for middle school teachers and 66,200 for high school teachers through 2034.
As of May 2024, the median annual wage for middle school teachers was $62,970, and for high school teachers, it was $64,580.

Whether you’re a first-year student or a transfer student, we aim to keep the admissions process simple, saving you time and money. We accept applications on a rolling basis; however, we recommend submitting all application materials at least 1 month before you plan to start your first semester. - Official transcripts from all previous schools
