Scholarship Opportunities

Several scholarship opportunities are available to students at all four Michigan campuses. These are managed through Ann Arbor, but students attending Flint, Dearborn, and Michigan Medicine can apply. There are currently fourteen different scholarships for students with all different types of disabilities. For a detailed list of available opportunities, see the SSD Scholarship Opportunities webpage.

Information on how to apply to these scholarships can be found at the SSD Scholarships and Awards Page.

The Betty Bishop Catto scholarship offers financial assistance to students with physical or learning disabilities. To qualify, you must be registered with the Office of Disability and Accessibility Support Services and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

The Flint Downtown Host Lions Club scholarship assists individuals who are blind or visually impaired. To qualify, you must be registered with DASS before application.

To register for the scholarships listed above, you must fill out the Financial Aid Scholarship Application which is available from mid-December to mid-February. Some scholarships require verification from DASS that you are registered through our office for accommodations. If this is the case, please email the information you need to [email protected]. More information and a link to where to apply can be found on the Financial Aid website.

These scholarships are not affiliated with DASS or the University of Michigan-Flint; however, they may be useful to current or incoming students. For more specific information about each, follow the links to the scholarship provider’s website.
